Let Claude listen to any podcast or long recording.
Share an episode link or just name the show. Upload a lecture, meeting or interview. Claude hears the whole thing, about 30 seconds per hour of audio, and answers with exact quotes and timestamps you can check.

What surprised the commander most about leaving Earth?
- [02:22]“The thing that blew my mind was how quickly we left Earth.”
- [02:30]“It just was so small and getting smaller… I didn't expect us to just be gone so quickly.”
Can Claude listen to podcasts?
Not well on its own. Claude has no built-in way to listen to a podcast episode from a link. If you attach a short audio file, Claude can sometimes transcribe it in its code workspace with a small open-source model, but that runs on a CPU and gets slow on long recordings. Listen to Any Audio adds the missing piece: share an episode link, name a show, or upload a recording, and Claude gets back what was said, with timestamps, speakers and exact quotes. An hour of audio takes about 30 seconds.
Until now the workaround was to find a transcript somewhere, or run the file through a transcription app, and paste the text in. Listen to Any Audio finds the episode for you, cuts long recordings into two-minute pieces so the timestamps stay accurate, and hands Claude the whole thing.
How it works
- Step 1
Add the connector
One click adds it to Claude. Sign in once, and it works in Claude on the web, on your phone and in Claude Desktop.
- Step 2
Name a show or share a link
Paste an Apple Podcasts, Spotify or any episode link, or just say "the latest episode of …". For a lecture or meeting recording, Claude gives you a private upload link.
- Step 3
Ask anything
An hour of audio takes about 30 seconds. Follow-up questions come back in a few seconds and don't use any of your minutes.
What people ask it
- Podcasts“What did the guest say about AI regulation in the latest episode of Hard Fork? Quote them.”
- Podcast research“Summarise the last three episodes of this show and list every book they mention.”
- Lecture recordings“Turn this 90-minute lecture into study notes, with the time each topic starts.”
- Meetings and calls“Who agreed to do what in this recorded call, and by when?”
- Interviews“Transcribe this interview with speaker labels, then find every quote about pricing.”
Fast, and it quotes the moment
A 59-minute podcast episode was transcribed in 31 seconds, and the answer quoted the exact sentence with its timestamp. Follow-up questions about the same episode come back in a few seconds.
When the recording doesn't say something, it tells you so instead of guessing.

Questions
- Which podcasts work?
- Any episode in a public podcast feed: share the Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast or Pocket Casts link, or just name the show ("the latest episode of …"). Spotify-only shows and paywalled back catalogues have no public feed, so they can't be fetched.
- Can it handle long lectures and meetings?
- Yes, up to three hours and 500 MB per recording. Long files are cut into two-minute pieces and transcribed in parallel, so an hour takes about 30 seconds and the timestamps stay accurate. Speakers are labelled Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and by name when names are said. It works with m4a, mp3, wav, ogg, flac and the sound of video files such as mp4 and mov.
- What about a short voice memo?
- Try attaching it to Claude first: Claude may transcribe a short file in its own workspace, without sending it anywhere. If it can't, or the recording is long, ask Claude to use Listen to Any Audio. It gives you a private upload link: drop the file, go back to Claude and say "done".
- Why do I upload files on a separate page?
- Files attached in Claude stay in Claude's workspace and can't be handed to a connector, so the file goes straight from your browser to our private storage instead. It's deleted as soon as it has been transcribed.
- How are minutes counted?
- By the length of each recording. Follow-up questions about a recording you've already shared are free. The free plan includes 60 minutes a month; Pro includes 20 hours.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. A connector you add on claude.ai also works in the Claude apps for iPhone and Android, and the upload page works in your phone's browser.
- Can it tell me who is speaking?
- It separates speakers (Speaker 1, Speaker 2) and uses names only when they're said aloud. It never identifies people from their voice.
